What Calculator Atlas is

Calculator Atlas is a collection of free online calculators, unit converters, formulas and educational guides. It covers math, statistics, finance, health, time and dates, construction, cooking, science, technology, education and other everyday topics. The aim is simple: every calculation, one place.

Why it exists

Many calculators give a number and nothing else. That makes it hard to tell whether the number is right, what was assumed, or when it should not be trusted. Here every calculator shows the formula it uses, a worked example with checked figures, how to read the result, and where it stops being reliable.

How the calculators work

Each calculator starts as a written specification: the inputs and their allowed ranges, the formula, the method, rounding, edge cases and sources. The calculation then runs in your browser, so the numbers you type into a calculator are not sent to our server. The calculation methodology describes the steps in detail.

How formulas are chosen

Formulas come from standard references: open textbooks, standards bodies and official publications. Where several accepted methods exist, the page says which one it uses. Where no authoritative standard exists, as with many business ratios, the page states the definition it uses instead of implying one. See sources and references.

How results are validated

Expected values for each calculator are produced separately by a program written in a different language, then compared with the website implementation, including edge cases and invalid input. The worked examples on a page are computed by running the calculator itself. This shows the code does what its specification says; it does not prove the method suits your particular situation.

How sources are evaluated

Official and standards-body publications come first, then open textbooks, then original works. Figures that change every year, such as tax limits, are tied to the year shown and compared with the issuing authority before use. Citations name the publication, not a specific page unless the page says so.

How corrections are handled

If you find a mistake, tell us. A confirmed error is reproduced, fixed together with its checks and examples, and tested again. A calculator that cannot be fixed is withdrawn. Read the corrections policy.

Understand the limits

A calculator gives a general-purpose estimate from the values you enter. It does not know your circumstances, local rules or the latest changes in regulations. Health, tax, finance, engineering and food-safety results should be confirmed with a qualified professional before you act on them. See the disclaimer and editorial policy.

Who is behind it

The calculators and page text were produced with the help of an AI assistant and checked with automated tests. No named editorial team, professional qualifications, awards or independent expert review are claimed. The name of the site’s operator and any legal-entity details are not published here; use the email address below to reach us.
